Personality/Attitude:
Gin Ichimaru is at all times seen with a broad smile across his visage, and his eyes almost always closed, giving the manifestation of a guy trying too hard. Some would say he uses this facade to seem more childlike of matters, while making other people more apprehensive of him. His method of verbal communication is very unceremonious and even bad mannered to others, and converses with an Osaka Dialect, which is usually used to typify impolite, maladroit, or rather dull people.
Though not often seen, Gin Ichimaru possesses a cruel and sadistic side, characterized by his eyes opening barely, and his voice becoming nearer in form to that of the other people. This is only seen in warfare, and even then, not very often. Out of him, Aizen, and Tousen, the three traitors of Soul Society, Gin would seem to have the widest range of emotion, and perhaps the only one with any reservations about his actions.

Combat Skills
Kidô: Gin doesn't use kido at all, but if you were to rate him out of ten, it would be 6/10.
Agility: Gin can be very agile when it comes to fighting. His speed helps him dodge oncoming blows and deliver his own.
Hand-to-Hand Combat: Doesn't use it but his agility gives off an implication that he is very skilled when it comes to this.
Foot Combat: Gin also doesn't use foot combat. Lets just say that he's terrible when it comes to this.
Swordmanship:
In combat, Gin shows immense skill in velocity and ability to foresee his enemy's moves, competent of avoiding the high-speed strikes of Toshiro Hitsugaya when in battle with him. He strikes back with an extraordinary speed of his own, making it seem as if he is attacking with more blades than he actually possesses. His sword wielding style is based in lunges rather than slices, as his Shikai makes use of that unchanged appearance.
Gin's combating method gyrates around the utilizing of Shinso, his zanpakutou. By speaking the command Ikorose or ‘Shoot to kill’, his Zanpakutou, generally the mass of a wakizashi, rather than the customary Katana, augments in length towards its opponents, stabbing them through from a far expanse. When saying the appropriate release axiom, Gin Ichimaru's zanpakuto lengthens in the direction of his adversary at its full form and slices through every solitary object in its path. The poignant thing is, for Gin's aim, is that there's no way to steer clear of a direct strike; it can only be blocked. During the whole entire assault, Shinso remains bullet-like.
Bankai:
Shinsou no Zansatsu(Divine Spear's Massacre) is his bankai, like his shikai, but more advanced. When activated, the blade vanishes from sight and the hilt remains within Gin's grasp. However, with the hilt, he is like a conductor, able to point the blade and tilt it upward to summon blades beneath the person he's pointing at. They stab up through the ground in an upside-down cone. However, this is not the extent of his bankai, as he can also point the zanpakutou outward and cause a blade of energy to shoot forward, much like his shikai but it is much faster.
Background/History:
Born in the Feudal Era of Japan, Gin was living in the care of his mother and father. That is, until they were murdered one night. You see, the Ichimaru Family was incredibly wealthy back then and had many enemies who were out for the wealth Gin’s family stored. Grieving over his parents’ deaths for only a day, Gin was back to his normal self, but wasn’t really shocked when he was told the money was solely his.
Gin was obviously happy, but no one could tell with that smile on his face. The day he was told, his father’s best friend (who was a samurai like Ichimaru-dono) and murderer, offered to let the young teenager live with him, and Gin, actually knowing that this was his parents’ murderer, he accepted.
For a whole year, Gin was abused by the man he called his guardian. He was forced to do all the chores while his guardian plotted on how to get Gin’s money. Then the young teenager realized what he was planning to do. He was going to kill him. He was getting ready to pack up and leave when his father’s best friend came in and he hurt him. A katana plus Gin equals death.
At last, the horrible plot that brought Gin’s death was put into action and completed. It wasn’t so bad after he had reached Soul Society. He was allowed to stay with a kind couple of old people and living with them didn’t change his personality. But of course, as he grew, he came to have a sadistic side and wandered out more. The one day, he met a girl who was starving.
Gin had met Rangiku Matsumoto numerous years previous to becoming Shinigami, when he saved her from malnourishment, noting that she must have had high spiritual power to find herself in such a condition. In the end, he joined the Seireitai as a Shinigami, working his way up to be the Lieutenant of Aizen Sousuke, which was likely when the two began their plans for Soul Society. Gin and Byakuya Kuchiki became captains around the same time, and they would usually have conversations together. But Byakuya always brought Rukia with him. From day one that Rukia met Gin, she knew that there was something about him that she refused to like.
When the Ryoka infiltrated Soul Society, Gin Ichimaru was the first shinigami of captain level that Ichigo and his friends met. Ichigo underestimated his strenth but Gin put him in his place with his Shikai and critically damaged Jadanbou, the gatekeeper.
Many of Soul Society’s captains cast their suspicions toward Gin when he failed to properly kill the intruders off. But he managed to avoid the other captains with careful timing and assistance from Sousuke Aizen. Many shinigami implied Gin to have sinister intentions because of his personality and appearance, and was the was regarded as Aizen’s murderer.
Gin knew that this was all part of Sousuke's plan to instigate as much disarray in the Seireitai as he could, but his tactics were ruined by Hitsugaya Toshiro, whom he tried to frame for his fake murder. Gin and Toshiro even engaged in combat, only to be stopped when Matsumoto threatened Gin to involve herself; a battle he didn't desire to have.
When all was exposed, Aizen affirmed evidently that he had never considered of anyone but Gin as his Lieutenant, even after the man had become a Captain. With that, the pair, along with supporter Kaname Tosen, made their get away from Soul Society thanks to the Menos Army, who made a last minute save by conveying them out. Gin's concluding lexis was that of regret, not to the Captains or to Soul Society, but to Rangiku, entailing that divulging her trust was his only lament. His time in Hueco Mundo has truly changed his appearance. From the captain’s uniform to what the Arrancar wear. But nonetheless, being away from Rangiku never stopped him of thinking about her.
